Questions

Frequently asked questions

Nigeria-based volunteers are preferred for field deployments, as our outreach programmes take place in communities across Nigeria. However, we also welcome remote volunteers for digital, communications, research and administrative roles. If you are based outside Nigeria and want to support us remotely, please mention this in your application.
We ask for a minimum of 2 hours per month, though many volunteers give more. The time commitment varies depending on the role and the programme. Field deployment roles are typically tied to specific outreach events. Remote roles can often be fitted around your existing commitments.
It depends on the role. Clinical roles such as health outreach require relevant medical qualifications. Many other roles, including community engagement, communications and administration, are open to motivated individuals regardless of formal qualifications. We value enthusiasm, reliability and a genuine commitment to our mission.
Once you submit your application, our team will review it and contact you if you are shortlisted. We will discuss your availability, skills and the roles we have available. If matched, you will receive a full briefing before any deployment or assignment.
Yes. All volunteers receive a briefing on our programmes, the communities we serve and what is expected in their role. For field deployments, we provide full context on the outreach programme before you are deployed. You will not be sent in without proper preparation.
Absolutely. We have worked with university students before, including pharmacy students from the University of Benin who partnered with us on our My Body, My Dignity outreach. If you are a student with relevant skills or a strong interest in our work, we encourage you to apply.
Still have questions? Email us at volunteer@shareaid.org and we will get back to you.
